Leonardo DiCaprio Is Rolex’s Newest Ambassador, First Campaign to Air During the 2025 Oscars
Leonardo DiCaprio is now part of the Rolex family. The Oscar-winning actor was announced as the brand’s newest ambassador on Tuesday, following the release of Rolex’s “Reach for the Crown” campaign. The video ad, which is now available on YouTube, features the actor among other brand ambassadors and is set to make its television debut on Sunday during the 2025 Academy Awards commercials.
Through its website, Rolex introduced DiCaprio as a “Testimonee,” a nickname given to the company ambassadors. The brand praised DiCaprio for his work outside the big screens, citing his contributions to cinema as a producer in the documentaries “Before the Flood” and “Ice on Fire,” and his initiatives as a climate change activist. The actor serves as a United Nations Messenger of Peace and, since 1998, has worked to address climate change through the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation.

“Whether on screen or behind the scenes, DiCaprio’s efforts are guided by his desire to inspire and bring about meaningful change,” Rolex said in a statement.
The list of Rolex Testimonees also includes some of DiCaprio’s longtime collaborators, such as Martin Scorsese, who directed him in “The Departed” and “The Wolf of Wall Street,” and James Cameron, who worked with him in “Titanic.”
In December, DiCaprio was seen wearing a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona ref. 116509 at the Los Angeles Lakers match against the Detroit Pistons. This watch was part of the early crop of references to feature an in-house, automatic Rolex movement.
DiCaprio has been a long fan of luxury watches. In 2023, the actor became an investor at the sustainability-focused watch brand ID Genève. “I am thrilled to be an investor in ID Genève, a brand that’s driving change in the luxury industry and beyond by consistently innovating and focusing on circular economy principles,” he said in a statement at the time.
The “Reach for the Crown” campaign also sees other Rolex Testimonees, such as Roger Federer and Coco Gauff.
