Leaked video from And Just Like That set hints at major change in fan favourite relationship

Even if you have never seen a single episode of Sex and the City or its reboot, And Just Like That, there's a good chance you know a few things about the series. It's sort of like cultural osmosis - these things just have a way of seeping in.

To that end, you might be aware that in the hallowed tradition of primetime television, both versions of the Darren Star-created show feature an on-again, off-again romance for the main character (well, two of them, technically). With Carrie's (Sarah Jessica Parker) husband Big having been killed off by way of a Peloton bike in the very first episode of the reboot, she has found her way back to her OTHER great love...being a terrible friend Aidan Shaw (John Corbett).

The TL;DR version of this storied love affair is as follows: Carrie and Aidan got together back in the original series, Carrie cheated on Aidan with Big, Aidan dumped Carrie, Carrie begged Aidan to take her back which he did. He proposed and she said yes even though she clearly wasn't keen to get hitched and so Aidan dumped her ass again. She married Big in the first movie but then kinda, sorta cheated on him with Aidan in the second film.

Cut to: Big being murdered by his exercise bike in the reboot and Carrie deciding that, rather than attempt the New York dating scene yet again, she'd rather try her luck with the old "third time's a charm" adage and make her relationship with Aidan a trilogy more confusing than Lord of the Rings. Sadly, Aidan also decides that the third time's the charm and breaks up with Carrie AGAIN in the desperate hope that she will finally take a hint. Oh, and because he needs to take care of his kid.

And that, gentle reader, brings us to present-day Manhattan where an eagle-eyed fan spotted SJP and John Corbett filming what appears to be a very tense scene in the West Village and shared it with TikTok.

Fans react to leaked And Just Like That footage

In the leaked footage, Aidan and Carrie seem to be having a very heated discussion about something with Carrie even storming off at the end of the conversation and Aidan running after her. Truly, these two need to start paying our chiropractic bills thanks to the amount of whiplash they give us.

While the audio is tricky to hear it does sound like Carrie is saying "I told you that meant nothing, NOTHING!" before walking off and now people (myself included) are wondering what or who the hell she has gone and done now.

"Leave him alone 😩," one fan wrote on the TikTok video.

"Not all of us rolling our eyes at Carrie 😂😂😂," another added.

"Omg now what? 🙄," a third wrote.

"Someone needs to save Aidan it’s been over 20 years of this 🤣," was another comment while "Omg, Aidan… why do you put yourself through this 😂," was another.

Fans compare Carrie and Aidan to another doomed couple

Hilariously, some viewers of the TikTok made comparisons between SJP and John Corbett to another very famous tortured love story that has also spanned the course of two decades.

"That’s JLo and Ben Affleck 😩," someone wrote.

"It’s giving JLO," said another.

"It's JLo/Ben Affleck vibes," a third echoed.

My favourite response, however, was from the only person who seemed to understand what the real issue is here.

"I could never leave the table if my drink is just being delivered," they said.
