Lauren Sánchez Debuts Sexy Blonde Highlights with Yellow Minidress and Big Hoops: 'New Hair Who Dis?'

Lauren Sánchez is living by the "new year, new me" motto.

The helicopter pilot and author, 55, shared an Instagram post on Dec. 31 revealing that she had updated her signature black hairstyle with honey-blonde highlights.

For the sexy snap, she showed off her new hair, which is not only lighter but appears to be a bit longer than her previous chest-length tresses, in a half-up style parted in the middle. Celebrity hairstylist Pete Burkill, who's worked with Megan Fox and Katy Perry, was the pro behind the seemingly 2000s-inspired look.

Sánchez paired her highlighted locks with a butter yellow minidress and giant gold hoop earrings. Her glam consisted of a flawless base, glossy pink lip and long lashes.

"New hair, who dis? Excited for tonight. Happy New Year everyone. So excited for 2025," she captioned the photo, which received compliments from many famous names.

Mindy Kaling wrote, "Wow wow wow," while Sánchez's close friend Kris Jenner commented, "Gorgeous!" Perry added to the praise with a simple "WHAT."

Sánchez celebrated many milestones in the past year, from releasing her first children's book, The Fly Who Flew to Space, to watching her son Nikko Gonzalez enter his modeling era (he walked his first runway show for Dolce & Gabbana at Milan Men's Fashion Week last January) and graduate from college.

She also made her Met Gala debut with fiancé Jeff Bezos by her side. Last May, the two hit the carpet in coordinating black and white looks. Sánchez wore a custom strapless Oscar de la Renta gown featuring a skirt designed to imitate the look of "shattered glass" and a short bob hairstyle. Meanwhile, the Amazon founder, 60, sported a suit and bow tie.

Ahead of fashion's biggest night, the engaged couple attended a Met Gala pre-party hosted at New York City's La Mercerie, for which Sánchez glammed up in a sheer little black dress.

Sánchez and Bezos got engaged in May 2023. The pair haven't shared many updates on their impending nuptials. However, Bezos found himself shutting down rumors around a supposed $600 million Christmas wedding in Aspen, Colo., shared in a recent The New York Post article, which cited a report from The Daily Mail.

As CEO of Pershing Square, Bill Ackman reposted the Post article with the caption, "This is not credible. Unless you are buying each of your guests a house, you can't spend this much money," Bezos replied, "Furthermore, this whole thing is completely false — none of this is happening."

"The old adage 'don't believe everything you read' is even more true today than it ever has been. Now lies can get ALL the way around the world before the truth can get its pants on. So be careful out there folks, and don't be gullible," Bezos added.
