“Laguna Beach ”turns 20! Stephen Colletti, Talan Torriero and Jason Wahler reunite to celebrate the 'wild ride'

The MTV reality series debuted in 2004.

Prepare to ride the wave of nostalgia all the way back to Laguna Beach.

It’s officially been 20 years  since the hit MTV series, Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, first debuted on screens. To mark the special occasion, stars Talan Torriero, Stephen Colletti and Jason Wahler, reunited to give fans a short and sweet blast from the past.

In a TikTok posted on Sept. 29, the trio struts and strikes a pose to the show’s iconic theme song, Hilary Duff’s “Come Clean.”

“On this day 20 years ago the first ep of laguna beach premiered,” Torriero wrote over the video and, in a comment, added, “What a wild ride.”

The hit MTV reality series initially followed eight Laguna Beach teens nearing the end of high school and on the cusp of beginning the next chapter of their lives. Torriero, Colletti, and Wahler led the debut cast alongside their fellow students, Lauren Conrad, Lo Bosworth, Morgan Olsen, Trey Phillips, Christina Sinclair (nee Schuller), and  Kristin Cavallari. Later seasons would see cast members graduate and depart, to be replaced by a group of current students.

Some of the OG castmates previously reunited four years ago to promote voter registration ahead of the 2020 presidential election. Phillips spearheaded the effort to reconnect the cast for a good cause. During that conversation, the stars opened up about what made the experience so special, pointing to how early it came in the rise of reality TV — ahead of future whirlwinds such as The Real World, Real Housewives franchise and Keeping Up With the Kardashians

"That was the coolest part of our experience — reality TV was not really a thing before Laguna Beach," said Sinclair. "In retrospect, we all would have been very different had we been exposed to reality TV the way we have now. In a way, I feel like that's what made Laguna Beach so iconic. We really went in with no expectations, having no idea what we were doing."

Since exiting the show, most of the former cast members have left the reality TV world behind — with a few exceptions. Conrad starred in spin-off The Hills, which followed her college life and pursuit of working in the fashion industry. The series got a 2019 reboot, The Hills: New Beginnings, which was subsequently canceled after two seasons. Cavallari also had her own E! reality show, Very Cavallari, which ended after three seasons.

The newly reunited trio are also way past their high school love triangle days. Torriero married Danielle Zuroski in 2014, and the couple now share three kids. Meanwhile, Colletti is engaged to NASCAR host and reporter Alex Weaver and Wahler wed wife, Ashley Slack, in 2013.
