Lady Gaga's mom moonlit as her matchmaker!

In the October cover story for Vogue, the Joker: Folie à Deux star, 38, explained that her mom  Cynthia Germanotta met her fiancé Michael Polansky before she did and had a premonition that initially shocked the pop star (born Stefani Germanotta).

"My mom met him and she said to me, ‘I think I just met your husband,’ Gaga recalled to the magazine. "I said, 'I'm not ready to meet my husband!'"

Added the "Born This Way" singer: "I could never have imagined that my mom ... found the most perfect person for me?'

But it looks like mother knows best. Polansky, 46, and the multihyphenate got engaged earlier in 2024 after five years of dating. She revealed their engagement to French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she performed at the opening ceremony.

A source later told PEOPLE that the couple had been engaged for months and were waiting for the right time to share the news with the world.

In Vogue Gaga recalled meeting the entrepreneur and tech investor at Napster Founder and Facebook co-founder Sean Parker's birthday party in December 2019 after her mother had met him through her philanthropic work.

Polansky went to Harvard at the same time that Parker and Mark Zuckerberg did.

“I got invited [to Parker's party] and I said, ‘I wonder if Michael is going to be there,’ and my mom said yes," the A Star Is Born actress said. "So I went to the party and I kept asking for him and he finally came over to me and we talked for three hours. We had the most amazing conversation.”

Polansky also recalled the couple's first meeting in the Vogue cover story.

“I didn’t know much about her and honestly wasn’t sure what to expect,” he said. “I was struck immediately by her warmth and openness — she was so genuinely curious about what my life was like growing up in Minnesota.”

The rest is history.

Gaga told the magazine that they talked for weeks before their first date, where they "fell in love" and then the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Polansky moved from San Francisco into Gaga's Malibu home to ride out the early days of quarantine.

"I’d been so focused on my career since I was a teenager. And the gift of that time was that I got to completely focus on my relationship," she said of that time in their relationship. "I met this totally supportive, loving human being who wanted to get to know me — outside of Lady Gaga.”

But Polansky — who asked Gaga to marry him after a day of rock climbing — also encouraged his partner to embrace her love of pop music.

"Michael is the person who told me to make a new pop record. He was like, ‘Babe. I love you. You need to make pop music," she told Vogue.

"He’s a very private guy and he’s not with me for any other reason than that we are right for each other. But I think what I want my fans to know is that I’m just, like, so happy," she said of her fiancé.
