Lady Amelia Spencer Puts New Twist on Aunt Princess Diana’s Iconic Versace Dress Nearly 30 Years Later at Milan Fashion Week
Sartorially speaking, not many things stand the test of time as well as Princess Diana’s style and the little black dress — and Lady Amelia Spencer combined both on Friday while in Milan for spring 2025 Fashion Week shows. The model, signed to Storm Management — along with her twin sister Eliza Spencer — wore a dress that recalled an iconic look by her late aunt.
Lady Amelia wore a little black dress by Versace to take in the fashion house’s spring 2025 show, and it was reminiscent of another little black dress by Versace that Princess Diana wore in 1995 to attend the preview of the film “Apollo 13” in London. Similar to Princess Diana’s Versace dress, Lady Amelia’s LBD consists of two harness-like straps.

Lady Amelia put a twist on the little black dress, wearing a black leather corseted dress with tuxedo boning and gold hardware embossed with the Versace logo on the straps. Fittingly, she paired with the brand’s croc-effect Medusa ‘95 purse and the Medusa ‘95 slingback pumps, which throwback to the same year in which Princess Diana wore her Versace little black dress.
Princess Diana paired her Versace dress, which was later displayed in Kensington Palace in 2012 after an extensive renovation, with a pair of black pumps, a matching clutch, and drop diamond and pearl earrings.
Lady Eliza Spencer was also in attendance at the show, and opted for a black suit, pairing it with Versace’s Medusa bow patent leather pumps and the Kleio shoulder bag.
Lady Amelia and Lady Eliza often coordinate their looks together, as they did for the Elisabetta Franchi show as well, arriving in matching maroon gowns, and the Cartier Queen’s Cup Polo at Guards Polo Club in June. The sisters embraced quiet luxury for that occasion, wearing white and ivory pieces by Tory Burch.
At the Versace show, there were plenty of looks off the runway too, worn by a bevy of celebrity guests that included Tinashe, Normani, Marina Abramović, Lusi Zhao, Giacomo Giorgio, Heart Evangelista and more.
