Kyle and Jackie O clash over Thomas Markle interview: 'A bit rough'
Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson have butted heads over an unexpected topic - the Duchess of Sussex's estranged father, Thomas Markle.
The radio hosts clashed on-air while discussing the 76-year-old's recent interview with 60 Minutes in which he slammed media mogul Oprah Winfrey for 'playing' his daughter and her husband, Prince Harry.
Kyle and Jackie O butt heads
Thomas, a former Hollywood lighting director, claimed that Oprah was using the couple — who filmed a tell-all interview with her in March — to "build her network and build her new shows".
He also repeated his public apology to the US-based royals and said he will "never give up hope" for reconciliation and to finally meet his two young grandchildren.
KIIS FM stars Kyle and Jackie O, however, had very different opinions as to whether Mr. Markle deserves Meghan's forgiveness after he was caught staging paparazzi photos before her wedding to Harry in 2018.
"I feel sorry for the dad, he did one mistake," said Jackie O before being cut off by Kyle.
"What, telling everyone when his daughter was about to join the royal family?" he scoffed.

"No, he did the set-up pap shots, remember?" Jackie O replied. "So he did that, that was it. So he can't see his grandchildren.
"He just feels it's a bit rough. I think it's a bit rough too."
She went on to ask Kyle if he could empathise with Thomas but his reaction was swift and blunt.
"Nope. He looks like a fat a**ehole if you ask me." Kyle said. "He sold his daughter out for a few dollars. What a dog."
While Jackie O tried to point out that Thomas was new to the media attention and didn't have any guidance or training from Buckingham Palace, Kyle wasn't having it.
"You know you don't sell your kid out. He was making money from whatever was going on in her life, I reckon that's dodgy," he declared.
Markle's plea
During his interview on Channel Nine, Thomas also opened up about his current feelings towards his daughter, who he says he hasn't spoken to since two days before her wedding.
"I don't know of anybody that's that cold to do this. And now, like I said, Meghan did it to me and Harry's doing it to his father. That's a cold thing to do," he said.
The Mexico-based retiree, who lives only a few hours away from Meghan and Harry's California mansion, hopes the notorious feud ends soon as he fears he won't be around for much longer.
"July 18, I'll be 77 years old. Most of the Markle men don't make it much past 80," he said.
"There's a good chance I might never see my grandchildren," he added.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their second child, Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten-Windsor in the morning of June 4 (US time). They also share son Archie, 2.
