Thomas Markle says he's apologised to Meghan 'at least 100 times'
Thomas Markle has claimed he’s apologised to his daughter, Meghan Markle, ‘at least a hundred times’.
On Monday, Meghan Markle sat down with Oprah Winfrey for an explosive interview, where she opened up about the ‘betrayal’ she felt when her dad was caught taking paparazzi photos before her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.
Meghan said she did everything she could to protect both of her parents in the lead up to her wedding as there was an ‘obsession’ with tracking them down.
When Oprah asked Meghan if it felt like betrayal when she found out her father was working with the tabloids, Meghan responded: "We called my dad, and I asked him, and he said, 'No, absolutely not.' I said, 'You know, the Institution has never intervened for anything for us, but they can try to go in and kill this story. But if they do this once, we're not going to be able to use that same leverage to protect our own kids one day'.

Now Thomas Markle has claimed he’s apologised to his daughter, however, he said he does media interviews because they won’t talk to him.

"I wish I hadn't done the whole thing, but here's the other side of this coin: It's like, no one took any time to protect any member of our family. We were attacked. Nobody was there to care for us,” he said in an interview on Good Morning Britain.
Thomas also detailed the phone call he had with the Sussexes, where he told them he wouldn’t be able to come to their wedding.
“Harry had said to me at that point, ‘If you had listened to me, this wouldn’t have happened to you,’” he claimed.
“And me, laying in a hospital bed after I’ve had a procedure and getting a stent put here and a stent put here, felt that that was kind of snotty, so I hung up on him. And that’s the last conversation we ever had.”
During the interview, Thomas Markle was also asked to comment on Meghan’s claims that a person in the royal family had ‘concerns’ about how dark her son, Archie’s, skin would be when he was born.
"I'm guessing and hoping it's just a dumb question from somebody — it could just be that simple," he said.
"It could be somebody asked a stupid question rather than being a total racist."
He later added: "It could have been just the stupid question from someone, someone who doesn't understand that, a Black person marries a white person, what you get, you get a baby, that's what you got. You got a baby."
