Yahoo Lifestyle Kristen Bell Will Return as Host of the 2025 SAG Awards on Netflix
The SAG Awards Wants This: Kristen Bell is back to host the kudocast as it returns to Netflix for a second time this February. Bell, of course, stars in the hit Netflix comedy “Nobody Wants This,” so her return to the SAG Awards on the streamer makes complete sense.
The 31st annual Screen Actors Guild Awards takes place on Sunday, Feb. 23, at 8 p.m. ET from the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall, streamed live on Netflix. The SAG Awards had traditionally gone without a host until Bell was given the job for the 24th edition in 2018; Megan Mullally hosted in 2019. But the SAG Awards returned to its host-less format after that, until this upcoming year.

“Thrilled to be hosting the SAG Awards again this year” Bell said in a statement. “I’m honored to be asked back and can’t wait to share the evening with my fellow actors, doing what we do best… celebrating ourselves.”
This also reps the second year of the SAG Awards on Netflix (or the third year, if you count its 2022 run on Netflix’s YouTube channel), which had previously sealed a multi-year deal for the awards show as it ramps up its live event output.
The SAG Awards will be produced for a second consecutive year by Silent House Productions. The SAG Awards‘ Jon Brockett returns as executive producer, along with Silent House Productions’ Baz Halpin, Mark Bracco and Linda Gierahn.
“Kristen Bell’s wit, warmth and charm makes her the perfect fit for our show – a night celebrating actors and the outstanding performances of the year,“ said SAG Awards Executive Producer Jon Brockett.
And yes, just as we couldn’t resist in the lede to this very story, Brockett also made a pun out of Bell’s current TV show. ”Plus,” he added, “everybody wants this.”
Besides “Nobody Wants This,” which Bell also executive produces, her recent credits include the Prime Video film “The People We Hate at the Wedding” and the Netflix’s parody “The Woman in the House.”
Bell is additionally known for NBC’s “The Good Place” and UPN/The CW’s “Veronica Mars.” She lent her voice to “Frozen” and its sequel; her other film credits include “Bad Moms,” “Like Father,” “The Lifeguard,” “The Boss,” “Hit & Run,” “Movie 43,” “Some Girls,” “You Again,” “Burlesque,” “When in Rome,” “Couples Retreat” and “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.”
Jane Fonda is set to receive the SAG Life Achievement Award at the ceremony; nominations for the 31st SAG Awards will be announced on Jan. 8.
