Kmart shoppers rave about 'amazing' $7.50 kitchen gadget: 'It’s used daily'
It'll change your cooking game.
If you’re anything like me, the thought of spending your Thursday night after work chopping onions might have you reaching for the takeaway menu instead. Let’s be real — when it comes to cooking, prep is arguably the worst part (I mean, apart from cleaning up of course).
But savvy Kmart shoppers may have cracked the code to such cooking woes with a kitchen gadget that’s been a huge hit among online fans of the discount retailer. The $7.50 2-in-1 chopper might not be a new product, but its popularity has stood the test of time, with shoppers still singing its praises to this day.
“I have told so many people about this chopper,” one shopper gushed in a review of the product. “It is very compact, easy to clean and works well. I can never be bothered pulling out my huge food processor, but also can’t hand chop as finely as I want to.”

Yes, it’s a fairly simple little gadget - and it's also not a new one. But for time-poor Aussies, the chopper is a virtual godsend that’s said to shave valuable minutes off your prep time. There are plenty of similar products on the market from name brands like Tupperware, but it’s hard to go past anything that costs the same as a morning coffee run.
Posts in various Kmart Facebook groups have also maintained momentum for praise of the chopper, including one from an enthusiastic home cook who was pleasantly surprised with her purchase.
“I looked at it on the shelf in the store and wondered how a small plastic ‘thing’ could chop anything, but for the price, I figured I’d give it a go,” she wrote. “Well, this very small chopping machine is amazing. It chops onions and garlic, tomatoes and basil beautifully for bruschetta.
Saves so much time and mess and the smell of onions and garlic doesn’t go on your chopping board or on your hands!”
The post opened a floodgate of comments from other fans of the nifty kitchen gadget, with shoppers sharing their own tips on how they used the chopper.
“Great for making breadcrumbs and biscuit crumbs, as well as all your herbs, garlic and onions,” a fellow shopper said.
“The other night I chopped mushrooms, onion, garlic and even carrots!” another chimed in.
“Had one of these for years,” a third person wrote. “It’s used daily. Bought an extra one for the camper trailer.”

But one commenter — and a couple of online reviews — warned of the sharpness of the blades. Of course, that’s a good thing for chopping veggies, but not so good for your precious fingers. Always be careful, especially when washing up!
To see the tool in action, TikToker Brianna Trevakis posted a recent video demonstrating how to chop garlic with the 2-in-1 chopper. If it’s as easy as she makes it seem, sign me up.
Honestly, with the current cost of living, anything that will save time and costs under $10 is a win in my books.
