Kmart shopper's $3 find transforms kid's toy: 'That's magic'
This simple Kmart hack will have your child's soft toy looking like new in no time.
A Victorian mum has shared her "pretty awesome hack" for completely restoring her daughter's 10-year-old toy - and fellow mums are going absolutely crazy for it.
Posting to a popular Facebook group for Kmart fans, the mother-of-four said she used the Kmart pet brush to bring new life to her daughter's much-loved soft toy, which had ended up looking tattered and tired over the years.
Using nothing but the pet brush, she “revitalized” the soft bunny from the popular children’s toy brand Jelly Cat, with hundreds of mums saying their children owned one too.
“Kmart pet brush to the rescue,” the woman wrote. “Revitalising the kids much loved Jelly Cat bunnies. The kids sleep with them every night and have since they were born. My oldest daughter's is now 10-years-old but now looks brand new again.”
The hack worked a treat with the old and tattered toy looking brand new again thanks to a quick brush and wash. Her post struck a chord with other mums too, with more than 400 people commenting and over 1,500 liking her post.

Meanwhile another mum confirmed the brush really does work and said she’d used it on her son’s soft toys too. “I hand wash them, then blow dry them and brush using one of these. They come up so good!” she said.
'The best brush to own'
It seems lots of Kmart shoppers have been using the popular pet brush for things other than their dog or cat for some time now too, with many revealing the budget brush has multiple uses around the home. “Those brushes are fabulous on sheepskin rugs too - makes them look brand new,” one person shared.
Another agreed, adding “These Kmart brushes are amazing! I used it on my shag rug! Looks brand new after I'm done with the brush.” Others said it can be used on carpets, restoring doll hair, removing pet hair from carpets and even on Oodies that have changed texture in the wash.
However, while most mums were keen to get their kids’ toys looking fresh and clean again, others said their child simply loved the tattered old toy they’d grown accustomed to. “We’ve got five and my daughter only prefers the one that’s all ratted and worn," one mum said. "Tried so many times but to no avail to get her to take to one’s of the others."
