Kim Kardashian's Skims 'Photoshop fail' ridiculed: 'We’re so over this'

Kim Kardashian has once again been accused of Photoshopping a campaign for her Skims shapewear line where ‘her finger literally distorts into a worm due to poor editing’.

People have taken to TikTok to call out the 40-year-old for the ‘embarrassing’ blunder and for perpetuating unrealistic body standards.

In the video, Kim can be seen running her finger up her waist as she wears a nude pair of shapewear underwear.

However, her finger seems to distort and flatten as she goes over a certain point, something that didn’t go unnoticed by watchers online.

Kenzie Brenna took to her account to repost the video, calling the alleged Photoshopping ‘sad’.

“We’re honestly so over this kim!!! you are beautiful, STOP digitally enhancing yourself to change your body or your face. this is adding to the epidemic of young girls and women who absolutely hate themselves and end up with BDD and other body image related mental illnesses,” she wrote.

“Do people not understand how this affects mental health?!! media literacy is so important. unfortunately i don’t trust a signal image that comes out form that family because everything is manipulated.”

In the video, Kenzie continued, saying Kim is “creating unrealistic expectations” and making people think that “we have to have curves in all of the right places or be thin enough in all of the right places”.

Influencer Charlotte Peirce agreed, writing in a post on her page: “Yet again another video from the #Kardashian family has surfaced where Kim is selling her new Skims line and her finger literally distorts into a worm due to poor photoshopping/editing.”

“I’ve spent enough time in this space now to recognise and have a keen eye for these slip ups. But unfortunately today, a young/fragile/impressionable mind will stumble across this ad and not see it. Instead they will be completely consumed with comparison,” she added.

“At what point does it stop? I mean this family literally created this beauty standard, and yet they’re struggling to keep up with it themselves (no pun intended)?! It’s so shit.”

People agreed, with one person commenting: “Well said! As a role model Kim should do more to show the real her! This is not showing women to have body confidence and acceptance if everything is edited! Very poor example from Kim!”

“It's unrealistic beauty standards on top of unrealistic beauty standards. Sad to think that girls are going to think that they will look like Kim if they buy her products when Kim doesn't even look like Kim in her products,” another person wrote.

It’s not the first time Kim or the rest of the Kardashian sisters have been accused of editing their photos.

In April, Khloe Kardashian took to her Instagram account to fiercely refute a photo which appeared online, supposedly showing her ‘real’ body.

The picture in question showed the reality stay seemingly unedited and unfiltered smiling poolside in Palm Springs, California. It was quickly taken down, but not before screenshots went viral on social media.

"This is me and my body unretouched and unfiltered," the 36-year-old wrote in a lengthy statement shared alongside a subsequent post with the video clips.

"The photo that was posted this week was beautiful. But as someone who has struggled with body image her whole life, when someone takes a photo of you that isn't flattering in bad lighting or doesn't capture your body the way it is after working to hard to get it to this point - and then shares it to the world - you should have every right to ask for it not to be shared - no matter who you are."

In October last year, Kim Kardashian was called out after fans thought they’d spotted a hilarious Photoshop fail in a snap from her 40th party getaway.

In the photo, the three women were all standing posing for the camera, wearing an array of extremely high-waisted string bikinis.

However, fans believe Kim may have slipped up on the editing tools, as the arm she has behind Khloe back seems to just disappear from the photo.
