Katie Holmes Hugs Jim Parsons on 'Final Days' of Broadway Play: 'Grateful for These Beautiful Souls'

Katie Holmes is honoring her Our Town colleagues as the show approaches its final performances.

On Thursday, Jan. 16, the actress shared a photo with costar Jim Parsons seemingly taken behind the scenes of their Broadway play, which officially opened in October 2024 and is set to take its final bow at the Barrymore Theatre in New York City this weekend.

"The final days of @ourtownbroadway are upon us," Holmes, 46, wrote with the post, which showed her embracing Parsons, 51.

She concluded, "I am so grateful for these beautiful souls that continue to bring Thornton’s words to life. I love you @therealjimparsons."

A revival of Thornton Wilder's timeless play, Our Town is directed by Kenny Leon and stars Holmes and Parsons, plus Zoey Deutch, Ephraim Sykes, Billy Eugene Jones, Richard Thomas, Michelle Wilson, Donald Webber Jr., Hagan Oliveras, honorary Tony winner Julie Halston and more.

The show marks Holmes' return to the Great White Way for the first time in over a decade. She made her Broadway debut in the 2008 revival of All My Sons and later starred in 2012's Dead Accounts.

The Dawson's Creek alum plays Mrs. Webb in Our Town opposite Tony and Emmy winner Thomas, 73, who's perhaps best known as John-Boy Walton in the CBS drama series The Waltons.

Set It Up actress Deutch, 30, fills out the family as Emily Webb in her Broadway debut, while Emmy-winning Big Bang Theory alum Parsons — who also starred in Mother Play on Broadway ahead of Our Town — leads the latter as the drama's "stage manager" narrator.

Speaking with PEOPLE about working with Holmes in Our Town back in October 2024, Deutch called her onstage mother "pure sunshine."

The actress added that she is grateful for the “warmth and love” she receives from Holmes on and off the stage: “It's impossible not to feel. She's a really, very special person.”

Continued Deutch, “I feel very lucky that I get to be with her in this capacity.”
