Kate Middleton is the queen of making affordable outfits look high end, as she proved once again this week while on a solo royal visit to Denmark.
The Duchess of Cambridge stunned in a textured red blazer from Zara which we’ve seen her wear on a few occasions in the past.

She paired the statement jacket with a white blouse with a ruffled collar that peeped through from underneath the blazer’s lapels, and a pair of tailored black trousers.
Suede heels and a $1,250 croc print bag from Aspinal of London added a couple of contrasting textures to the outfit which the royal finished off with a pair of pearl earrings and a matching pearl necklace.
The look is great inspiration for our autumn/winter wardrobes but unfortunately, Zara is not currently selling Kate’s blazer in Australia.
Instead, we’ve found this almost identical one from Nissa whose cut, fabric and even the button details match the blazer the Duchess wore.
The colour however, is slightly more of an orangey red than the shade the Duchess wore.
For something a little more suited to an Aussie autumn, this double breasted blazer from Forecast is made of a lightweight fabric with a relaxed fit and is priced at $130.
To round out the look, the brand also has a matching set of high waisted, slim fit trousers for $80.
Meanwhile Zara has a few textured blazers as part of its new autumn collection, and although there isn’t anything in red, this $189 single breasted blazer in hot pink isn’t too dissimilar to Kate’s.
There’s also this lovely double breasted green blazer with gold buttons that’s slightly cropped and retails for $139.
Kate’s flying solo
The Duchess of Cambridge is in Denmark on behalf of the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood to research how that country has put systems in place to give young children a strong start to life.
It’s the mum-of-three’s first solo royal tour in five years, although it’s only a brief one and she’s scheduled to stay in Copenhagen for just two days.
Announcing the tour on the Kensington Royal’s Twitter page earlier this month she said, “Looking forward to learning from experts, parents & practitioners about Denmark’s approach to early childhood”.
"Denmark is a beacon of best practice in its approach to the early years, with a culture which prioritises the best start in life.”
One of the highlights of her first day on Tuesday was visiting the Lego Foundation’s Play Lab where she embraced her inner child and slid down a giant slide. She said her kids were very jealous when they found out she would be seeing so much Lego without her.
The royal is also due to meet Denmark’s Queen Margrethe II and Crown Princess Mary while in town.
