Kate Hudson Surprises Fans With Exciting Career Announcement

Mariah Carey might have some competition as the "Queen of Christmas."

Kate Hudson, who officially embarked on a music career earlier this year with the release of her debut album Glorious in May, took to Instagram this week to share her take on a beloved holiday song: "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."

On Friday, Oct. 4, the Almost Famous star posted a photo of herself via Instagram wearing a sparkly champagne-colored gown against a Christmas-tree green background.

"Surprise!!! ✨Christmas came early this year✨ My version of 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas' is available now. Go listen to get yourself in the holiday spirit 🎄," Hudson wrote in her caption.

Hudson's followers definitely felt her festive vibe.

"UGH KATEEEEE THIS IS BEAUTIFUL 😍🥺✨," commented one fan.

"The Christmas song I didn’t know I needed ❤️," raved another person.

"STOPPPPPPPPP MY HEART CANT HANDLE IT!" gushed someone else.

Meanwhile, yet another fan declared, "Bye Mariah Carey... December is welcoming Kate Hudson... Jk about Mariah, but Kate, you have good pipes 🙌🙌🙌🙌."

It seems “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” is a favorite of Hudson's, as she also shared a video of herself singing the 1943 classic to Instagram in December 2020.

In the clip, the mother-of-two wore a long cardigan, slippers, and a knit hat as she sang, holding a microphone in front of a twinkling Christmas tree.

“Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight,” she captioned the video.

Hudson's fans aren't the only ones supporting her musical efforts. Mom Goldie Hawn also praised her daughter's skills in a recent interview with Us Weekly.

“Isn’t it great?" Hawn said. “She is successful but she is also talented. She knows how to sing. She’s got talent.”
