Karl Stefanovic transforms into drag queen alter ego: 'Killed it'

Karl Stefanovic thrilled viewers of the Today show this morning, when he transformed into his drag queen alter ego.

The 46-year-old showed off his lean pins in a pink sequin mini dress and sheer cape, which he accessorised with a pair of white heels.

A bouffant blonde wig finished off ‘Karlene Stefanovic’s' look, with some statement earrings and lashings of mascara added for good measure.

The segment on the show was to promote Stan's new series, RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under, which is set to begin tomorrow.

Karl made his debut on the show as Karlene by lip syncing to Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive, leaving Allison Langdon, Brooke Boney and Alex Cullen in tears of laughter.

Some behind the scenes videos posted to the Today show’s Instagram page show Karl prepping for his drag queen debut.

A video showed Karl walking around the Today show office, lip syncing into a microphone and sitting on Richard Wilkins’ lap.

“Brilliant!!!! Tears of laughter!!! What a legend”

“Love love love it...you killed it Karl” another person said.

Another person simply said: “Stick to your day jo Karl” alongside laughing emojis.
