Karl Stefanovic struggles in relatable parenting moment

Anyone who has, or has been in the vicinity of small children knows that the atmosphere can turn on a dime. A picture-perfect family moment can go south at lightning speed if your little tyke decides to throw it in, and for the most part parents and carers are powerless to stem the changing tide.

Well, it looks like new dad Karl Stefanovic was on the receiving end of such a moment over the weekend, after wife Jasmine Yarbrough shared a hysterically relatable snap of the Today host decidedly out of his depth.

In the photo, Karl and friends are pictured in the ocean with their bubs by their side, everyone having a whale of a time with the exception of baby Harper who is looking less than enthusiastic about the entire thing.

While Karl grins gamely, Harper can be seen throwing a champion tantrum – fists in the air, tears in her eyes, outrage on her face.

“Loves the water,” mum Jasmine hilariously captioned the photo, hashtagging ‘Little Mermaid’.

The hilarious family moment had fans of the couple in stitches, with hundreds leaving comments on the Instagram post.

“Hahaha omg poor Harper,” one person wrote.

“Looks like she’s having a blast,” another joked.

“Little Harper May doesn’t look too happy!” a very literal observer wrote.

Karl and Jasmine, who tied the knot in a lavish Mexican getaway wedding back in 2018, have won plenty of fans with their refreshingly honest and humorous approach to life and parenting.

Last year, Karl left viewers in stitches when he revealed a hysterical, if slightly embarrassing, story about his wife.

On Today in November, Karl revealed Jasmine had drunkenly called Queensland's Premier in a bid to get the state's borders opened up.

Then in December, he exposed her questionable online shopping habits to the nation when he had a cheeky dig at her penchant for buying items off Instagram.

Entertainment reporter Brooke Boney was reading a story about how George Clooney cuts his own hair with an at-home device when Karl made the comment.

"Every time I've ever bought anything from television, it breaks," Brooke laughingly told hosts Karl and Allison Langdon.

"My wife is mad for that stuff on Instagram," Karl said. "She buys stuff on Instagram all the time and it arrives and it never works."
