Julie Goodwin reveals surprising MasterChef star who would win Dancing With The Stars
EXCLUSIVE: The beloved chef also reveals which is more stressful - the MasterChef kitchen or the dance floor!
Julie Goodwin fans were left heartbroken on Sunday night when it was revealed she would be unable to compete in the first week of Dancing With The Stars after tearing her calf muscle in a rehearsal. The former MasterChef star and her dance partner Andrey Gorbunov stood on stage as host Sonia Kruger shared the news.
"Unfortunately, we do have some sad news. Julie and Andrey won't be dancing for us tonight, as Julie has suffered an injury at a recent training session," the presenter shared. They then showed footage of the incident, showing Julie immediately crying out in pain after taking a large step and lifting a foot in the air.

'Crushing blow'
Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, Julie shares that she was "gutted" by the turn of events, telling us, "I was gutted when I injured myself right before the first dance. Andrey and I had been working so hard on our number, and we were really excited to bring it to the floor."
She adds, "It was a crushing blow. It’s a serious injury with long recovery time usually, but I am doing all the things the medical professionals are telling me to do and giving myself the best chance at participating in the coming weeks."
While she was disappointed by her injury, Julie did share that she was surprised by how much fun she's been having rehearsing.

"I expected it to be gruelling and all-consuming, which it was, but I didn’t expect to laugh so much," she tells us, adding she never thought she'd be able to get to where she is now as a dancer.
Speaking of her decision to join the show, Julie shares, "I’m at a point in my life where I am weighing up my options and working out what’s next. It seemed just the right time to get out of my comfort zone and try something completely different for a little while."
'Winning machine'
When asked to compare the stress that comes with competing on shows like MasterChef with Dancing With The Stars, there was a clear winner for Julie, who says, "MasterChef was way more stressful because I’m a cook, and I’m expected to know how to cook. But I don’t think anyone really expects me to be able to dance so I was just able to enjoy it."
Julie also shared which MasterChef star she thinks would win Dancing With the Stars, adding, "Billie McKay could win Dancing [With the Stars] absolutely, that girl is a winning machine."
Billie is, in fact, a winning machine because she won the seventh and fourteenth seasons of MasterChef.
Which reality show would Julie tackle next?
Dancing With the Stars is Julie's third reality show. She's already competed on MasterChef (and MasterChef All-Stars, where she lost to Billie) and the first season of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, and it seems as though she's hungry for more, with the star telling us Survivor is next on her list!
"I’d like to try something outdoorsy. Survivor would be great fun I reckon," she says.
