Julia Fox Claims She Lives With A Ghost That 'Came With The House'
Julia Fox recalled her experience moving into her current home, and it sounds like something straight out of a horror movie. But according to her, she doesn’t mind one bit.
“I actually have a ghost that lives in my house right now,” the actor, 34, told host Seth Meyers on Tuesday’s episode of “Late Night.” “I feel like I talk about her a lot, and I feel so bad. I’m, like, putting her on blast. Like, I don’t know if she wants me to talk about her.”
The “Uncut Gems” actor, who is ironically set to star in Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming psychological thriller “Presence” about a haunted house, claimed the apparition is a good-natured one.
“Her name is Beauty, and she came with the house; she didn’t follow me there,” she explained.
Fox went on to share that she didn’t realize the house was haunted until she and her 4-year-old son went down to the basement after she had already purchased the home.
“It was funny: It begins like any ghost story. I felt a pull toward this house, and it was a full moon, and then I was like, ‘That’s it. I’m getting the house,’” she recalled. “And then when we went down to the basement after we’d already moved all our stuff in, there was a little letter from the previous owners basically saying, like, ‘This is Beauty.’ And it had all her things: her hairbrush, her mirror...”
While Fox didn’t specify which home she was speaking of, she recently purchased a 19th century Harlem townhouse for $2.9 million with her friend and model, Richie Shazam Khan, in May 2023.
Visibly flabbergasted, Meyers then questioned, “Wait, the owners waited until you moved in and then left a note in the basement?”
“That is some really dirty — I’ve heard some bad New York real estate stuff…,” he added, prompting Fox to respond with a laugh, “I know.”
While most would likely be freaked out by a paranormal roomie, Fox doubled down on her love for “Beauty.”
“She’s wonderful. She’s like the matriarch of the house,” she told Meyers. “She watches over us, and we love her. My son actually sees her. I don’t see her, but my son will say, ‘I saw her, I saw her.’”
Fox previously spilled about her haunted abode in a video interview with Vulture in January 2024.
“When I bought it, I went downstairs and there was a whole shrine set up to the ghost that lives there,” she told the outlet.
Fox added, “And before I saw the shrine I knew that there was a ghost drawing me to the house because every time I would go, it’d be like on a full moon or it was just all very magical, mystical, supernatural.”
