Pairing her new hairdo with a fitted black jumpsuit, the star opted for a dark smoky eye and nude lip to finish off the look.

Her celebrity friends went wild for the dramatic change, with Ozark’s Julia Garner calling the actress a 'smokeshow'.

“OH MY GOODNESS GODDESS,” actress AnnaSophia Robb added, while pop star Sabrina Carpenter quipped: “I’m not well.”

Hollywood’s Drew Barrymore even weighed in, with a simple ‘MEOW WOW!’, and 80’s icon Molly Ringwald wrote: “Holy moly!”

Her fans also fawned over the dramatic hair change, calling her 'stunning' and 'a queen'.

"Holy sh*t, now that's a stunning razor cut! You look amazing, as always!" a fan gushed.

"That hair is everything," another exclaimed.

"I love this look. But then again, I love all your looks. You are one gorgeous lady," a third wrote.

Bullet Train is an upcoming action comedy film, based on a Japanese novel of the same name.

Joey’s co-stars include Brad Pitt, Sandra Bullock and Bad Bunny, with a slew of stars attending premieres to promote it.

Child star's transformation for mature role

This comes after fellow child star and Joey’s friend Bailee Madison stepped into a darker role.

The actress, 22, is appearing in Pretty Little Liars: Original Spin as a pregnant schoolgirl.

Hitting Binge on July 29, the show is a spin-off from the 2010 teen drama which helped launch careers for Lucy Hale and Ashley Benson.

Bailee plays the lead role of Imogen Adams, and the trailer shows that the 10-part thriller is taking on a much darker tone.

Following a group of friends being targeted by a character known only as ‘A’, Imogen and her friends must find a way to deal with the threat.

Fans went wild over the trailer, with one writing: “THIS LOOKS INSANE”.

“I actually like that it seems a bit darker than the original, can’t wait!” another added.

“It’s giving me Pretty Little Liars mixed with Scream the series vibes,” a third chimed in.
