Joe Biden's subtle dig at Ivanka Trump over White House role
Joe Biden has made his stance on family members having roles in the White House very clear, taking aim at Donald Trump’s administration.
The President of the United States and First Lady, Jill Biden, appeared on the cover of People Magazine, where Biden revealed he plans to run his administration "like the Obama-Biden administration", in which he was the Vice President for eight years.
"No one in our family and extended family is going to be involved in any government undertaking or foreign policy. And nobody has an office in this place,” he said in the interview.
The president's words are being seen as a snub to Ivanka Trump by some, with Donald Trump’s daughter acting as an aide to her father from 2017.

Ivanka’s husband, Jared Kushner, was also employed by the Trump administration, acting as Senior Advisor to the President of the United States between 2017 and 2021.
Meanwhile, Trump’s sons, Eric and Donald Trump Jr. continued to work with the Trump Organization during their father’s presidency.
Meanwhile, Joe Biden talked about returning to the White House in the People Magazine interview, calling it 'surreal’.
“We were here for eight years, just not in this part of the residence. Spent a lot of time in the Cabinet Room and the Oval with the president. So upstairs is new,” he said.
Jill Biden said they tried to make the place as homely as possible.
“We have family pictures all around, our books, some furniture we brought from home,” she said.
The Trumps have moved from the White House to Mar-a-Lago in Florida after Donald’s term ended.
