Trump ‘would choose Ivanka over Melania’ ex-aide claims

Melania Trump’s former aide has claimed Donald Trump favoured Ivanka Trump over his wife.

Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, who wrote the book called Melania and Me last year, was extremely close with the former First Lady, working with her in the West Wing and even helping to plan Donald Trump’s inauguration.

Now, Stephanie has likened the former president’s daughter, Ivanka, to ‘Donald in a suit’ and claimed Melania always comes second to her step-daughter.

In an interview with She Knows, Stephanie said: “One of the reasons why I wrote in the way that I wrote it… was to highlight the way that Ivanka would usurp Melania and all the traditions of the White House and didn’t care about any rules and didn’t care about anyone else.

“She’s Donald in a suit. She is Donald’s one ace in the hole.

“And if Donald had to choose between anyone, it would be Ivanka.”

Melania has previously called out the "delusional" and "malicious gossip" after Stephanie’s book was released.

Stephanie told Good Morning America that the pair had been friends for over a decade but said: "The Melania I first met versus the Melania there is today is a very different person”.

According to a report in The Times, Stephanie also claimed Melania brushed off Donald Trump’s ‘grab them by the pussy’ comment, saying ‘he is who he is’.

Stephanie claims when she asked Melania if she was angry at Donald’s ‘grab them by the pussy’ comment, the former model reportedly replied: “Nope! He is who he is."

"I told him that if he ran for president, he had to be ready for everything to be opened up and exposed. His whole life," Stephanie claims she said.

At the time, Melania released a statement saying: "The words my husband used are unacceptable and offensive to me.

"This does not represent the man that I know. He has the heart and mind of a leader. I hope people will accept his apology, as I have, and focus on the important issues facing our nation and the world."

When it comes to Melania and Ivanka Trump’s relationship, a CNN report recently claimed that while Melania and Ivanka once had mutual respect for each other’s ‘turf’ they can now barely stand to be in the same room.

A source reportedly told the publication that Ivanka’s political forays strayed too far into Melania’s territory for the First Lady’s liking.
