Joanna Gaines Just Shared the Most Surprising Holiday Hosting Tip

Here at Country Living, we follow what Joanna Gaines says very seriously. Whether it's the debut of her stunning Christmas tree, the announcement of her new book, or an investigation into her MasterClass, we are always here for what the Fixer Upper star is putting out. So, naturally, when she revealed her holiday hosting tips, we were all over it—but it's not quite what we expected.

Gaines developed a nifty trick to hide all of the clutter of holiday cooking ingredients prior to hosting some friends at her house. The key: maximizing storage in the most unlikely places.

Joanna revealed in the relatable video, "I had every intention of waking up today and getting after it, and baking and making all of the Christmas candy that I always love to do every year. And then I woke up and I was like, 'You know, I'm just not feeling it.' But also had some friends coming over and had to hide everything."

"A dual-purpose dishwasher," she says, unveiling a dishwasher stuffed with graham cracker boxes, bags of marshmallows, and more. "What utensil drawer?" she added, pulling open a drawer filled with nuts and chocolate chips. Let's not even mention under the sink...

Fans couldn't get enough of her comical storage solution.

"I laughed. Out. Loud. When you opened that dishwasher!" one writes.

"Very good tip! Don’t forget about your washer and dryer! They can hold lots of stuff!" another adds.

As long as no one opens any of the cabinets, machinery, or drawers, you're golden.

The next day, Joanna followed up with an update. She got her Christmas candy made, thanks to the help of her elves (aka her children). She revealed the Gaines family baking menu, filled with tried-and-true favorites: peanut butter balls (Jo's favorite), cherry mashers (Jo's dad's favorite), peppermint bark, peanut clusters (Chip's favorite), white chocolate peanut butter crackers (the kids' favorite). It definitely sounds like their hard work was worth it!
