Christmas movies are well underway on Great American Family and Hallmark Channel as well as UPtv and soon Lifetime. There have already been a few duds, but plenty of winners that will happily be repeated over the holiday season. This week, actress Jill Wagner departs from her current role as executive producer and military shooter in Lioness to go back to the content that made her popular with viewers—the holiday rom-com.

What is Christmas Under the Northern Lights about?
Erin (Wagner) joins her dad Doug (Boxleitner) for a Christmas in the family’s former hometown of Aurora on a mission that is part business – selling the family home – and major bucket list item for Erin to see the Aurora Borealis light up the Northern sky. Realtor Lori (Holly) and family friend and local tour guide Trevor (Hutch) create a Christmas inspired at every turn by faith, love, and hope, so much so that Christmas bells hung over decades in a forest grove ring an unbroken song, a harbinger of miracles to come.

Jill Wagner (Erin)
Wagner most recently served as an executive producer and starred in Lioness opposite Zoe Saldana and Nicole Kidman. The second season recently premiered on Paramount+. She previously starred in the Mystery 101 series on Hallmark Mystery. She also starred in A Merry Christmas WIsh and A Christmas Miracle for Daisy for Great American Family.

Jesse Hutch (Trevor)
Hutch previously starred as Luke Bailey on Hallmark Channel's first original series, Cedar Cove. He has since starred in several holiday films including Let It Snow opposite Candace Cameron Bure, B&B Merry opposite Jen Lilley, and A Christmas Blessing with Lori Loughlin and James Tupper..
Bruce Boxleitner (Doug)
Bruce Boxleitner is best known for his leading roles in Tron, Scarecrow & Mrs. King and Babylon 5. He was also part of the main cast of Cedar Cove.
Lauren Holly (Lori)
Best known for her roles on Picket Fences, Dumb and Dumber, and NCIS, it's hard to believe Holly has been acting for four decades with her first role being on Hill Street Blues. Her most recent credits include The Irrational, Country Roads Christmas, and Family Law.\
