Jetstar cabin crew help with surprise mid-flight proposal

Love was well and truly in the air on a Jetstar flight from the Gold Coast to Sydney on Wednesday night when a man got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend as passengers and crew looked on.

With the help of the Jetstar cabin crew, Ngarino surprised his makeup artist partner Jessica by popping the question mid-air, with footage of the moment being shared on social media.

"This happened last night on one of our flights, with a little help from our crew," the airline shared, alongside the video on Instagram.

"A big congratulations to @hairbyngarino and @jessicafoxartistry - thanks for letting us be a part of your special moment."

Ngarino tells the cabin crew "she has no idea" before they film him walking down the – plane – aisle for the special moment.

The crew can then be heard making a 'special announcement' for Jessica over the intercom. "Could you please stand up" they ask of the unsuspecting passenger.

Jessica is quickly in tears as her other half gets down on one knee before he stands triumphantly and announces to other passengers "she said yes!".

A newly engaged Jessica also took to her own Instagram to share the happy news and a photo of her stunning new bling: "This just happened tonight! I'm engaged!"

Earlier this year, Virgin Australia enjoyed a similar mile-high love story as they welcomed a Melbourne couple on board who decided to actually get married mid-air.

Elaine Tiong and Luke Serdar tied the knot on a flight to Sydney in February, in a ceremony that was officiated by Australian actress and singer Tottie Goldsmith.

“The truth is, I was a wedding planner for many years, and after organising hundreds of weddings, I wanted something different for us," Elaine said afterward.

“This is always what I had dreamed of - doing something random and completely out of the box. After friends suggested I marry on a flight – Luke loves travel and planes – I couldn’t think of a more perfect way for us to say ‘I do’, and here we are."
