After news of Alba and Warren's breakup, a source told PEOPLE they are still "friends and all about the kids."
"No matter what's going on right now, it seems they will remain close," said the source. "If they're filing for divorce, it's not because of some hateful drama. They still look happy together. Jess has mentioned over the years though that it's hard to keep the spark."
Alba and Warren first met in Vancouver in 2004 on the set of Fantastic Four. The actress played Sue Storm, while Warren worked as a director's assistant.
Both Alba and Warren have been spotted on outings in recent weeks without wearing their wedding rings, though the pair put on a united front to celebrate son Hayes’ 7th birthday earlier in January.

In a cryptic message on New Year’s Eve, Alba wrote that her 2024 was “filled with connection, growth, adventures, laughter, peace, sisterhood, transformation, rebirth, joy and so much love.” (The photo-roundup post did not feature any photos of Warren.)
In May 2024, the Sin City actress marked her wedding anniversary with Warren by writing on Instagram, "16 years of marriage, 20 years together and forever to go."
She added at the time, "I’m proud of us for making it this far. There is no real set of rules or guidance that can ever prepare you for what it means to commit to another person and choose to be family."
"Through thick and thin we have continually found our way back to each other and have chosen one another. Cheers to us, I love you," Alba concluded.
