‘Jeopardy!’ Fans Are ‘Stressing Out’ Over ‘Brutal’ Halloween Prank

Jeopardy! really embraced the spirit of the spooky season this year, so much so that viewers are "stressing" over it.

In a video shared on Oct. 31, the long-running game show perfectly timed its sense of humor and pop culture knowledge with all the festive happenings this Halloween.

Thursday's upload began relatively unsuspecting, with a shot of the studio and text that read: "Is it real or is it cake? Jeopardy! edition." In the accompanying caption, the team running the account joked, "There's only one way to find out 😏🔪."

The video then cut (pun intended) to a clip of the cameraperson attempting to slice the famed podium and lectern but failing as neither were made from cake. Then, they moved on to try and cut into the buzzer but also failed as it was real, too.

Finally, the last piece of the puzzle, as some would say, had to do with host Ken Jennings, who could be seen standing at his usual spot on the stage before the following text popped up on the screen: "Let's try Ken Jennings."

As the camera operator recreated some pretty scary horror movie shots–like pretending to stab the air with the knife–as they approached Jennings, he quickly turned around, giving fans a jump scare.

The video didn't end there, as the host was made of cake–at least in the final frame, which featured a shot of him surprised that had been printed onto edible paper and laid across the top of a cake.

"Wow, it's cake!" the videographer joked while cutting out a triangle-shaped piece. "Yum," they added, revealing the inside of the treat to be red velvet.

Instagram went wild over the short clip, unable to focus on anything but how the person recording the video cut the cake.

"Really brutal how you cut the cake in a pie shape 😬," one top-liked comment read.

"The scariest part of this video is the way the intern cut the cake," another joked.

"They way y’all cut the cake is stressing me out😂😂," a third added before someone else asked, "Who did this?? 😒 you’re stressing people out."

A different fan admitted that they "Low key hoped that it was a life-sized Ken cake! 😂🤷🏻‍♀️."

Viewers saw the Halloween trick and repaid the favor with a few treats (puns), calling him "Cake Jennings" and "Ken 'the Cake' Jennings."

"I’ll take the cake for 100$ Alex," one more quipped.
