'Jeopardy!' Fans Have a Lot of Thoughts About Colin Jost's Host News

Jeopardy! fans, it's time to meet the newest host joining the TV franchise!

In early May, viewers of the quiz show were excited to learn about the latest installment coming to television. Titled Pop Culture Jeopardy!, the series will stream on Amazon Prime Video and focus on questions surrounding all forms of entertainment (including TV, movies, music and Broadway). While folks are eagerly applying to be contestants in the upcoming spinoff, they also wanted to know who would be the host of the streaming series.

Well, thanks to a post on Instagram, we now know who is set to star on Pop Culture Jeopardy!. Uploading a photo of Saturday Night Live cast member Colin Jost, news broke that he will emcee the new series as Ken Jennings continues hosting the syndicated version on primetime TV.

"He’s got that new host energy 🎤✨," read the official caption on July 31. "Check out @colinjost on #PopCultureJeopardy! Coming soon to @primevideo @amazonmgmstudios."

Upon learning of Colin's newest role, many were thrilled about the prospect of seeing him read the clues for Pop Culture Jeopardy!.

"Interesting choice! I wouldn’t count him out at the moment! Looking forward to seeing Jost host!" one person wrote in the comments. "From surfing at the Olympics to Pop Culture Jeopardy love to see it!" another agreed. "Pop Culture version of Jeopardy! AND Colin Jost? Talk about doubling up on the wins," a different follower added.

On the other hand, there were some fans who weren't thrilled about seeing Colin become a part of the Jeopardy! franchise in this way.

"Who is this," one viewer questioned. "Yuck terrible choice," another commented. "Seriously? No thanks on this host," a different person remarked.

The addition of Colin to the Jeopardy! family makes him the second host currently emceeing shows in the TV franchise. Fans may remember Ken became the sole host of Jeopardy! after Mayim Bialik's December 2023 exit, and he also stars on Jeopardy! Masters and Celebrity Jeopardy!.

For those wanting to know more about Colin, he's been working on SNL since 2005. He first joined the hit sketch comedy series as a staff writer, and became a co-anchor of the "Weekend Update" segment starting in 2014, alongside Michael Che.

Congrats, Colin and we can't wait to watch!
