Jennifer Love Hewitt has solidified her summer plans.
The actress, 45, is officially set to reprise her role in the upcoming reboot of I Know What You Did Last Summer, she confirmed on Instagram Dec. 13.
"It’s never too late to go back," she wrote, sharing a photo of herself looking in a mirror with the haunting title written on notes. "Julie James is returning. I know what you will be doing next summer!"
Hewitt headlined the 1997 slasher movie alongside Freddie Prinze Jr., now 48, who is also returning for the new iteration. His real-life wife Sarah Michelle Gellar was also in the cast, plus Ryan Phillippe, Anne Heche and Johnny Galecki.

Hewitt and Prinze returned in the 1998 sequel, which added in Mekhi Phifer and Brandy Norwood, who has expressed interest in returning for the new movie as well.
There was also a third film in 2006 with a new cast, I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer, plus a reimagined Prime Video series that debuted in 2021, all inspired by a 1973 novel by Lois Duncan.
While on an episode of the Jennifer Hudson Show that aired earlier this week, Hewitt teased her possible return to the horror franchise but said she "can't say much, I’m not officially in it yet, but I’m close."
Still, Hewitt said, "It’s going to be really good," and added, "They have an amazing young cast that’s in it. I’m hoping to come back as the ghost of '90s past, and we’ll see what happens.”
The star-studded young reboot cast includes: Madelyn Cline, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, Jonah Hauer-King, Lola Tung, Chase Sui Wonders and Sarah Pidgeon.
I Know What You Did Last Summer is in theaters summer 2025.
