Jennifer Lopez Says “Unstoppable ”Role Was ‘One of the Great Honors of My Life’

"It will have you cheering while you hold back the tears," the singer and actress said of the film, which will premiere in theaters later this year

Jennifer Lopez is proud of her latest project!

On Saturday, Sept. 7, the singer and actress, 55, shared some special moments on Instagram from her film Unstoppable's Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF)'s premiere the night prior.

Lopez first shared a snap of herself beaming in her dazzling floor-length silver Tamara Ralph dress while she was joined onstage at the event by others involved in the project, including the person she plays in the film, Anthony Robles' mother Judy, who could be seen putting her head on the star's shoulder.

Anthony — who the movie is based on — and cast members Bobby Cannavale, Don Cheadle and Jharrel Jerome were also in the photograph.

Lopez then shared two videos in her post, which highlighted the standing ovation the movie received after its TIFF premiere.

"I can’t wait for you guys to see this movie!!!! This is my favorite picture from what was one of the most magical nights I think I’ve ever had with a film," Lopez wrote in her caption.

"Besides playing Selena, playing the role of Judy Robles and bringing her and her struggles and triumphs with her amazing son, Anthony Robles to life, was one of the great honors of my life," she continued, referencing her role as Selena Quintanilla Pérez in the 1997 biopic of the singer.

Unstoppable follows the real-life story of wrestler Anthony, who was born with one leg and won a NCAA national championship in 2011 for Arizona State University.

The Atlas star added in her Instagram post, "These are the type of movies that the world needs right now more than ever. Inspiring, uplifting, exciting and emotional. At times difficult to watch but so real and so moving."

"It’s a perfect family movie. It will have you cheering while you hold back the tears. It won’t be out until December 6 in theaters but it’ll be perfect for everyone to see with your families around Christmas. It is our gift to you to introduce the story of this inspiring UNSTOPPABLE family," she concluded, then thanking cast members "and especially Judy Robles and Anthony Robles for making Unstoppable an unforgettable experience for me 🙏🏼🤼‍♂️🤍."

The night after the premiere, the "On the Floor" musician wore a semi-sheer pink ruffled Chloé dress to attend the Road to the Golden Globes party during TIFF at the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto.

Lopez added some extra height with a pair of matching pink boots and kept her long brown hair down.

The Sept. 6 premiere marked Lopez's first major public appearance since it was reported that she filed for divorce from husband Ben Affleck on Aug. 20 after two years of marriage.

Unstoppable — which is made by Affleck, 52, and Matt Damon's production company, Artists Equity — arrives in select theaters in December.
