Jennifer Lopez says Puerto Rico 'island of garbage' Trump rally jab stung 'every Latino'
JLo is getting loud about her support for Kamala Harris, and her issue with controversial comments about Puerto Ricans.
Jennifer Lopez spoke at the vice president's Las Vegas campaign rally on Thursday and addressed comedian Tony Hinchcliffe calling the United States territory a "floating island of garbage" at former President Donald Trump's closing campaign rally in New York City.
"At Madison Square Garden, he reminded us who he really is and how he really feels," the Puerto Rican singer said at the Democratic presidential candidate's rally. "It wasn't just Puerto Ricans that were offended that day, OK? It was every Latino in this country, it was humanity and anyone of decent character."
She continued, "I'm a lover. You guys know that about me. I'm not a fighter. I am not here to trash anyone or bring them down. I know what that can feel like, and I wouldn't do it to my worst enemy, or even when facing the biggest adversary I think America has internally ever had."

Hinchcliffe's remarks at the Republican presidential nominee's rally Sunday night have come under severe scrutiny.
"There's a lot going on. I don’t know if you know this but there's literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now," the comedian, whose stage name is Kill Tony, said at the event. "I think it's called Puerto Rico."
As the "proud daughter" of the U.S. territory, Lopez said, "We are Americans" and, "This is our country, too." The actress added that she trusts in the "power of women," the "power of Latinos" and "the power of all our votes."

Several other celebrities, including Puerto Rican artists Bad Bunny, Marc Anthony and Ricky Martin, have condemned Hinchcliffe's comments and showed support for Harris.
Actors including Gina Rodriguez, Rosie Perez, Luis Guzmán, Niecy Nash-Betts and Lin-Manuel Miranda also denounced the comedian's remarks or encouraged their followers to vote for Harris.
"There are people for whom this is fine, it's just a bad joke, lighten up. For many of us, this 'joke' is a reminder of how bad it was under Trump, how he treated our people in our moment of need," Miranda wrote of the former president's response to Hurricane Maria in an Instagram post on Monday. "I am voting for VP Kamala Harris. If you are eligible to vote, please vote."
