There wasn’t a lack of leopard print this fall—the new neutral was everywhere and on everyone, with stars including Katie Holmes and Eva Mendes jumping on the trend. And while it seems that won’t be changing this winter, how we wear it might look different.
Leopard print coats might already be holding the title of winter’s “It” item. The statement style is timeless—everyone from Jackie Kennedy to Kate Moss has worn one—and this year, Jennifer Lopez and Sabrina Carpenter are once again reminding us just how chic the bold layer is.
Last week, Lopez made her go-to uniform—a.k.a. great jeans and a pair of pumps—even cooler by adding a super fuzzy animal-print coat to her look. It was dramatic and cozy, which, IMO, might be winter’s best combo. And this week, Sabrina Carpenter followed suit, wearing a black jacket with a leopard trim that was inspired by an iconic Fran Fine look. The internet, of course, ate it up. Well, as did I, which is why I found nine leopard-print jackets that I can add to my wardrobe right now, starting at $50.

Eisctnd Fleece Jacket
For something cozy and more everyday, I’m considering this fleece jacket that’s $50 at Amazon. The chocolate brown trim and buttons are both great touches, elevating this style beyond the standard, super casual zip-up fleece. This jacket would be the perfect topper for a pair of jeans and an oversized turtleneck.
Abercrombie and Fitch Faux Fur Coat
Abercrombie and Fitch’s on-sale faux fur coat is the Lopez-inspired style I need ASAP. The long, collared coat is so chic, with shoppers reporting that the jacket “looks expensive.” Plus, it’s “soft, heavy,” and warm enough for even the Northeast’s ice-cold winters, explained another customer.
Mango Bella Reversible Faux Leather and Faux Fur Jacket
Carpenter took a slightly more subtle approach to the trend, opting for a pop of leopard at the collar and sleeves. Thanks to this black jacket’s faux fur lining, it does the same. You get a pop of that trending print at the hood and neck, and you can easily add it at the sleeves with a simple cuff. Best of all though, it’s reversible, so if you want to go Lopez’s route, all you have to do is flip this inside out. Because of how different the black faux leather and bold leopard print are, this really does feel like you’re getting two completely different jackets in one.
A leopard print coat is on its way to becoming winter’s trendiest item—that is, if it isn’t already. Shop even more styles, below.
