2004
In 2004, the Met Gala theme was “Dangerous Liaisons: Fashion and Furniture in the 18th Century.” Lopez took inspiration from the theme and fashioned this Dolce & Gabbana black gown with a corset bodice, sheer paneling and lace embellishments. She posed for a few photos with designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
2006
For the 2006 Met Gala, Lopez opted for a softer look. The theme this year was “AngloMania: Tradition and Transgression in British Fashion.” She wore a blush pink one-shoulder Versace gown.
2007
Lopez traded soft hues for metallic shine in 2007. The Met Gala’s theme was “Poiret: King of Fashion” and Lopez wore this gown by Marchesa with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and a Roger Vivier clutch.
2008
The theme for the 2008 Met Gala was “Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy.” For her look, Lopez fashioned this one-shoulder gray-blue gown by Alberta Ferretti.
2010
In 2010, the Met Gala theme was “American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity.” Lopez wore this glimmering tulle strapless gown by Zuhair Murad for the event.
2011
In 2011, Lopez opted for a fiery red look by Gucci, featuring floral appliqués on the shoulders. The theme for the 2011 Met Gala was “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty.”
2013
Lopez took inspiration from the Met Gala 2013 them with her look at the event. Inspired by “Punk: Chaos to Couture,” Lopez wore this patterned look by Michael Kors.
2015
At the 2015 Met Gala, Lopez opted for another fiery red look. She wore this intricately designed gown in a fiery red shade with sheer elements by Versace for the event. The theme was “China: Through the Looking Glass.”
2017
The 2017 Met Gala’s theme was “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons: Art of the In-between.” For the occasion, Lopez opted for a romantic blue gown with a flowing train by Valentino.
2018
Lopez dressed on-theme for the 2018 Met Gala, as well. The theme for the event was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and The Catholic Imagination.” She wore this gown with thigh-high slit, intricately designed bead work and cutouts on the long-sleeve dress by Balmain.
2019
The 2019 Met Gala’s theme “Camp: Notes on Fashion” also inspired Lopez. She wore this shimmering Versace dress with a thigh-high slit, fringe detailing and matching headpiece.
2021
The 2021 Met Gala was all about “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.” For the occasion, Lopez went with American designer Ralph Lauren. She wore this brown gown with feather details, a thigh-high slit and coordinated hat and jacket.
2023
The 2023 Met Gala featured Lopez in this ornate, sleeveless gown with a dramatic cutout by Ralph Lauren. The gown also included a bow train and a black fascinator. The theme was “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.”
