Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are navigating their divorce while still putting family first.

The pair spent a "fun lunch" with their kids at the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles on Saturday, Sept. 14, less than a month after Lopez, 55, filed for divorce from Affleck, 52, a source tells PEOPLE.

Affleck’s children, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, as well as Lopez’s twins, Emme and Max, 16, were all a part of the afternoon outing. (Affleck is also a dad to Violet, 18, who is a freshman in college. He shares all three kids with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, while Lopez shares her children with ex-husband Marc Anthony.)

"They all came together for a fun lunch so the kids could hang out," the insider says. "[Jennifer's] trying to be friendly with Ben. They are still moving forward with the divorce though. They are working out financial details amicably."

The source adds: "A divorce is never easy, but Jennifer doesn't want to be selfish about it. The kids always got along and have fun together. It makes her happy seeing the kids happy together. Happy kids are her priority."

Lopez's outing with Affleck comes less than a month after the singer and actress filed for divorce from The Accountant 2 star on Aug. 20.

The date marked the second anniversary of the pair's traditional wedding ceremony in Georgia. They initially married in Las Vegas on July 17, 2022.

Lopez filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court and listed April 26, 2024, as the date of separation. She filed for divorce herself without using a lawyer and was technically self-represented. The reason for the split was cited as irreconcilable differences.

The Atlas star requested no spousal support for either party, and a source told PEOPLE that the exes didn't tie the knot with a prenuptial agreement in place. The papers also indicated that Affleck and Lopez would split attorney's fees, and that Lopez wants her last name restored.

Lopez and Affleck famously rekindled their romance in 2021, over 17 years after they were engaged and postponed a planned September 2003 wedding.

They officially broke up for the first time in January 2004, though they remained friendly in the decade-plus between.

This summer, Lopez and Affleck spent time away from each other on opposite coasts. Then, earlier this month, Lopez attended the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in promotion of her forthcoming film Unstoppable. Affleck, who is a producer on the project, opted to skip the annual film event.

Lopez and Affleck have also been dealing with real estate situations amid their split. Back in June, they were quietly shopping their shared $68 million Beverly Hills mansion off-market, though they decided to publicly list the home the following month. (They purchased the property in June 2023 for just under $61 million.)

Affleck has since purchased a new house for himself for $20.5 million, while Lopez has been looking for a new home in Los Angeles since April.
