Jennifer Gates Celebrates Daughter Leila's Second Birthday: 'Our Sweet Girl'

Jennifer Gates and her husband Nayel Nassar officially have a 2-year-old on their hands!

In a joint post shared to Instagram Monday, Feb. 10, the proud parents celebrated their first-born turning another year older.

“Happy 2nd birthday to our sweet girl Leila!” Gates, 28, wrote in the caption of an adorable video montage of her daughter.

“Watching her grow up alongside the horses, go for small rides, and enjoy time at the barn is just the best,” Gates added.

The video showed several clips of the toddler spending time with horses — riding them, feeding them carrots and walking a miniature pony on a leash.

As her caption continued, the daughter of billionaire Bill Gates and his former wife Melinda French Gates, reflected on her own childhood with horses.

“As a kid, Cool Beans (“Beanie”) taught me how to ride, and 20 years later it is so special that Leila gets to learn from him. 🥹,” she concluded.

“Love the photos of you at the end 😂,” Jennifer’s younger sister Phoebe Adele Gates commented, referring to images of Jenn posing with horses as a child.

In addition to her mom’s past, Leila’s love for horses runs deep in her family — her father is an Egyptian American professional equestrian.

"Horses are just one part of our life, but we love the sport," Jennifer said while speaking to CNN's EQ equestrian show in 2019. "[Nassar]'s a professional, and I do this as an amateur. So to be able to share our love and passion for horses with each other is just incredible."

The couple, who tied the knot in 2021, are also parents to daughter Mia, who was born on Nov. 2, 2024.

Over on Jennifer’s Instagram Stories, she continued sharing pictures from Leila’s birthday, including one of the 2-year-old wearing pink bows and a sparkly pink dress while pointing at her gifts and a stuffed turtle — which seemed to fit perfectly with the theme of her party.

Another Instagram Story shared to Jennifer’s page was a friend of their family bringing their toddler to celebrate Leila’s birthday.

“Leila is in TWO the sea” was written on a large wall that was painted shades of blue and resembled waves. Fish, coral and seas shells were also part of the design.

"Can’t believe this girl made us parents one year ago today. Leila, you’ve brought indescribable joy to this world with your endless laughter, curiosity, and love for all things animal🐴🐶!" Jennifer captioned a tribute last year when Leila turned one.

She continued, "Happy birthday sweet girl, we love you unconditionally forever, and can’t wait to see what the next year will bring! 💗🥹✨♾️."
