Jack Black and Paul Rudd hilariously tease the 'big f---in' snake' in their “Anaconda” comedy reboot
The actors star in the reimagining of the 1997 action horror movie, which comes out Dec. 25, 2025.
If you're going to reboot Anaconda, you've got to give the people what they want: A "big f---in' snake."
Thankfully, Jack Black and Paul Rudd know that, because the duo hilariously teases exactly what fans want in a new promo for their upcoming comedy reboot of the 1997 action horror classic.
On Friday, the actors released a low-fi video on the set of the movie, and after a little confusion over whether the title is The Anaconda or just simply Anaconda (drop the "the," it's cleaner), they get right to the heart of the matter.
"Whatever, there's going to be a big f---in' snake and it's gonna rip," Black says.

"You want to get scared?" Rudd asks. "You want to laugh? You want to celebrate with your friends? Or maybe you're alone and sad and have nobody but just want to forget about. It's coming out on Christmas in 2025... what are you gonna do, open presents?"
Then Black and Rudd accidentally (but also probably on purpose, knowing them) make a strong innuendo about how excited audiences will get in the theater watching this movie. "It doesn't matter what I meant," Black says. "Come see our movie Anaconda!"

Then Black invites Rudd to see the giant snake that's just over in the next room. "They're about to feed it a donkey, come on!" he says as Rudd gives his trademark smile and follows him off camera.

Sony and Columbia Pictures' Anaconda reboot comes from filmmaker Tom Gormican (The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent), who will direct the script he co-wrote with Kevin Etten. The new version is a comedic reimagining of the 1997 classic that starred Jennifer Lopez, Owen Wilson, Ice Cube, Jon Voight, and Eric Stoltz. The original movie led to many sequels, including 2004's Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid and three additional direct-to-video installments.
