J.Lo, Ben Affleck split ‘really hit’ the pop star ‘hard,’ sources say

NEW YORK — Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s split, confirmed by the pop star filing for divorce last week, “really hit her hard.”

The Bronx native, 55, is still coming to terms with the demise of her marriage to the 52-year-old Oscar winner.

“It really hit her hard,” an insider told People. “She’s very upset and disappointed with Ben.”

Lopez filed for divorce on Aug. 20 — the second anniversary of their wedding in Savannah, Georgia. Two days later, the “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” singer filed to remove “Affleck” from her surname and reinstate her maiden name.

The source said that Lopez is still shouldering the burden of the $60 million Beverly Hills mansion the couple has been trying to sell since at least June of this year.

“She and Ben bought the house for the whole family. It’s way too big for her and filled with too many memories as well,” the insider said of the pair’s five children.

Lopez and ex-husband Marc Anthony share twins Emme and Max, 16. Affleck and ex-wife Jennifer Garner share Samuel, 12, Seraphina, 15, and Violet, 18.

A source told Us Weekly that Lopez and the “Gone Girl” star’s divorce was “planned,” and though they’d agreed she’d be the one to file, it remains unclear whether the poignant timing was ever discussed.

The A-listers, whose outwardly differing approaches to fame are thought to have contributed to the crumbling of their marriage, were previously engaged in the early 2000s and got back together in 2021. Talk of divorce has followed them since the spring, and only intensified amid reports they were living apart.

Earlier this week, sources told People that Lopez coddled Affleck amid his “very moody and dark” mood swings.
