J.D. Vance and his wife Usha share three children
J.D. Vance is a father of three.
The former Ohio Senator — who will be sworn in as President Donald Trump’s vice president on Jan. 20 — has three children with his wife, Usha: Ewan, Vivek and Mirabel.
Vance does not share much about his sons and daughter but mentioned his middle child on the Senate floor in February 2024.
Per The Hill, he used some of his time on the floor during a debate about an aid package to Ukraine to mention that he missed celebrating his son's 4th birthday. "But I want you to know that Daddy loves you very much," he said, before reading all of Dr. Seuss' Oh, The Places You'll Go! "into the record, because maybe you can watch it at home."

Ewan, 7
Vance and Usha welcomed their first child, son Ewan, in June 2017.
Few details about Ewan have been shared, as the couple have kept their children mostly out of the spotlight.
At the time of his birth, Megyn Kelly shared a photo of the new family of three and wrote, "Congratulations, @JDVance1 and Usha! He’s beautiful."
Vivek, 4
Vance and Usha's second child, son Vivek, was born in February 2020.
Vance celebrated their son's 4th birthday on the Senate floor in February 2024. Vivek, Vance said, "was 3 years old yesterday but turned 4 today.”
He expressed regret that he couldn't be with Vivek at his "birthday dinner," but assured his son that "Daddy loves [him] very much" before reading the children's book Oh, The Places You'll Go! out loud.
According to The Hill, the Hillbilly Elegy author's reading took around six minutes, and he inserted his son's name into the final verse.
Mirabel, 2
Vance and Usha welcomed their third child, daughter Mirabel, in December 2021.
He shared the news in a now-deleted Instagram, posting a photo from the hospital holding the newest addition to their family.
"We were blessed with an early Christmas present this year. Everyone please meet Mirabel Rose Vance, our first girl. Mama and baby both doing great, and we’re feeling very grateful this Christmas season," he wrote.
