Isla Fisher reveals what helped her through divorce from Sacha Baron Cohen: 'Emotional'
Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen made the shock announcement in early 2024 that they had broken up a year prior.
Isla Fisher has broken her silence on her divorce from Sacha Baron Cohen, describing it as "the most difficult thing" she been through. The former Home and Away star and her British ex shared a joint statement in April 2024, announcing they had split a year earlier.
The statement read: "After a long tennis match lasting over 20 years, we are finally putting our racquets down. In 2023, we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritised our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change. We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy."

The timing of the pair's statement came at a time when Sacha was branded a "massive a**hole" by Rebel Wilson, who worked with the comedian on the 2016 comedy Grimsby. Rebel also alleged that Sacha was trying to "bully" her into deleting a chapter about him from her memoir. It was noted that when the allegations came to light, Isla remained tightlipped and didn't come to her husband's defence.

In an interview with The Times, Isla, who makes a brief appearance in Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, shared, "It’s the most difficult thing that I’ve been through and I’ve learnt so much about myself in the process.
"I never imagined my family being separated but we are committed and loving parents."
She added that she was helped by "the women in my life", saying, "The female relationships that I cultivated in our business, those women have been there for me. I’m actually going to get emotional.

"I’m sitting here today because of them. I’ve learnt so much about the power of female friendship and I’ve just learnt that I do have resilience, who I am outside of a partnership, and what my values are. It’s been this expansive learning curve."
When rumours broke that Isla wanted to share the announcement about their divorce due to Rebel's claims about Sacha, Us Weekly shut them down, saying it wasn't connected and had "nothing to do" with the Bridesmaids star.
"They have been living separate lives since last year but wanted to give this space and time for their children to be OK with this before the news came out and they got all this attention," an insider told the publication.
