"It's Ecological": Timothée Chalamet Rode An E-Bike To The "A Complete Unknown" Premiere, And Then It Backfired

Timothée Chalamet's press tour for A Complete Unknown is completely unhinged.

From unexpected appearances and random interviews, the Dune: Part Two actor pulled out all the stops to promote the Bob Dylan biopic starring him, Monica Barbaro, Elle Fanning, and Edward Norton.

On Jan. 14, Timothée arrived on the red carpet for the London premiere of A Complete Unknown on a Lime e-bike, and the internet has comments, questions, and concerns.

People speculated that his decision to ride an e-bike to the premiere was a callback to David Byrne arriving at the 2023 Met Gala on a bicycle.

Another theory was that it referenced Bob Dylan's primary mode of transportation in the movie — a Triumph Bonneville T100.

The real reason Timothée was riding a Lime bike down the streets of London on his way to the premiere wasn't because he's in his Harry Styles era (iykyk). It's actually pretty rational.

On the French television show Quotidien, Timothée explained that he rode a bike due to a traffic jam and noted, "It's ecological!"

But his good deed didn't go unpunished as he also revealed that he was hit with a £65 (roughly $79) fine for incorrectly parking the e-bike. "It was horrible because it was actually kind of an advert for them," he said.

But his e-bike ride gained some traction online, and now it'll join the lineup of wacky Tim Chalamet press tour moments.

This person said, "Timothee Chalamet is just a bunch of intrusive thoughts in a suit," and based on the press tour hijinks, they're not completely wrong.

And finally, this person had the most logical reflection that genuinely put a smile on my face, writing, "it's ironic when someone gets fined for something that's supposed to be a positive advertisement. It just shows how even good intentions can be caught in red tape."
