Inside Taylor Swift's Kansas City Children's Hospital Visit, from a 'Bad Blood' TikTok to Sweet Travis Kelce Fan Moment
Swift concluded her record-breaking Eras Tour on Dec. 8
Days after Taylor Swift wrapped her record-shattering Eras Tour, the pop superstar paid a visit to some of her younger fans at a Kansas City children's hospital.
On Thursday, Dec. 12, the "Karma" singer dropped by Children's Mercy Hospital, leaving staffers, patients and their families shocked — and thrilled.
In an Instagram post shared by one of the hospital's pediatric nurses, Swift, 34, posed for a smiling group photo with the hospital staff.
"TAYLOR SWIFT WAS IN THE PROCEDURAL SEDATION UNIT‼️‼️ Best day ever!!!" she captioned the post.
A woman named Anita Belt also shared sweet photos of Swift visiting a patient named Rylie on Facebook. In one snap, the Grammy winner gifted Rylie a signed copy of her commemorative Eras Tour book.
"Children's Mercy Hospital does their best to nurse seriously ill children, comfort family, and bring a little joy when they can. Today did not disappoint! Thank you Taylor Swift for bringing some joy to Rylie today!!" Belt captioned her post, which included a photo of Swift giving the camera her best selfie face. "Great way to bring a smile and make a memory!"
In one photo with another patient, Swift smiled as she held up a blanket that said "Go Taylor's Boyfriend." The blanket was a nod to Swift's Kansas City Chiefs star beau Travis Kelce, who did not join her on her hospital visit and was likely at football practice.
The "Fortnight" singer had a sweet conversation about Kelce with another patient as she signed a copy of her book, during which the young patient informed Swift, "I like Travis now."
"Yes, me too," Swift replied. "That's an absolute yes on that one. Is he your favorite player?"
After the patient responded that her favorite players were Kelce and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Swift responded, "Good. These are good answers. You are acing this."
Swift also filmed a TikTok to her song "Bad Blood" in the hospital, which was posted to the social media platform with the caption, "Boy ain't no way I [just] woke up and tripped out with Taylor Swift."
Another woman named Melissa Nuzum shared photos of Swift with a patient named Baylee on Facebook, writing that she had "the coolest, most unexpected surprise ever."
"TAYLOR SWIFT came to visit [in-patient] children today and Baylee was chosen since she requests Taylor songs during her uncomfortable procedures," she wrote. "Ya'll she is amazing! On top of her sheer beauty she was just as kind and personable and down to earth. She gave Baylee a signed copy of her Eras Tour book and accepted a gift from Baylee ( a diamond art picture) as well"
Nuzum added that she "cried because it's wonderful to see my girl smile so much knowing the pain she's been in."
In another video shared on TikTok, hospital staff wished Swift — who turns 35 on Friday, Dec. 13 — a happy birthday as she said goodbye.
Swift wrapped her record-breaking tour on Dec. 8 in Vancouver. During her last show, she reflected on her journey onstage.
"We have had so many adventures. It has been the most exciting, powerful, electrifying, intense, most challenging thing I've ever done in my entire life," she said during her Lover set.
Before she performed "Karma," her last song, Swift thanked her fans for being a "part of the most thrilling chapter of my entire life to date."
After the end of her tour, PEOPLE confirmed that the "Cruel Summer" singer gave out $197 million in bonuses to everyone working on her tour — including truck drivers, caterers, instrument techs, merch team, lighting, sound, production staff and assistants, carpenters, dancers, band, security, choreographers, pyrotechnics, riggers, hair, make-up, wardrobe, physical therapists and video team.
