Inside Sam Armytage's new rural life after Sunrise exit
She's switched the bright lights of the big city for the calm and quiet of the countryside and former Sunrise co-host Sam Armytage doesn't seem to regret her decision to quit the show and start afresh one bit.
The 44-year-old was positively beaming when she offered a glimpse inside her new, post-Sunrise life with husband Richard Lavender on his rural property in the NSW Southern Highlands.
Sam's 'next chapter'
Sam shared a selfie to Instagram of the newlywed pair — she and Richard married on New Year's Eve 2020 — all rugged up in the car, calling it her 'next chapter' in the caption.
"'Edit your life frequently & ruthlessly. It’s your masterpiece after all.' My mum," Sam quoted her late mother, Libby who passed away in November last year.
"And I did," she went on, adding, "And this is what the next chapter looks like..."
Sam's famous pals were thrilled with her positive update and took to the comments section to share their kind words.

"Hooray," wrote former Studio 10 host Jess Rowe while Channel 7 news reporter Angela Cox added, "This fills my heart".
Aussie actor and Packed To The Rafters star Rebecca Gibney said, "That looks FABULOUS!"
But, as she demonstrated in a series of Instagram Stories, farm life isn't so glamorous, particularly during a catastrophic weather event.
Filming in her kitchen, Sam captured footage of several bowls and buckets collecting drips from the ceiling as NSW continues to be lashed with an unprecedented amount of rain.
"Remember when there was... a drought," she joked in the caption.
Sam also shared a clip of her glum-looking golden retriever, Banjo who was cooped up inside due to the wild weather outside.
Sam out, Nat in
In a move that shocked viewers, Sam announced she would be walking away from eight years in breakfast TV two weeks ago.
At the time, she explained that she wanted to "take a break and find some peace and calm" after a difficult six months.
On her final day on Sunrise, Sam hit out at the 'snarkiness' and 'bullying' she had faced during her time as host.
After much speculation around her replacement, Sam's Channel 7 colleague Nat Barr stepped in to host the program alongside David 'Kochie' Koch.
