An Aussie influencer has faced the wrath of the internet after mistakenly calling Sydney Australia's capital in a video shared on her TikTok account.
Mikaela Testa, who is known for her lavish lifestyle on the social media network, has hit back after some of her followers called her out over the mistake.
The Gold Coast model recently went on a trip to Sydney, sharing her travels with her 472K followers on TikTok
"Today we're flying to Sydney, Capital of Australia," she said in her daily vlog, before showing off her hotel room and view.
But the clip was quickly flooded with comments from people calling the error “dumb” and “embarrassing”.
"Umm Canberra is the capital sweetheart," one person commented.
"Never heard of Canberra?" another said.
Mikaela, who also has 1.2M followers on Instagram, has since defended her geographical mistake, adding she does indeed know that Canberra is the capital of Australia.
“Guys, I know I f**ked up, I f**ked up okay,” she said on her Instagram Stories.
“Canberra is the capital of Australia and I knew that, but what makes me think Sydney is the capital is because it’s the biggest.
“Thanks for correcting me, I mean, I look really stupid now. But I’m sure there’s a lot of people in this country who think the same thing, so I’m good.”
Mikaela went on to say she appreciated everyone who was nice about her “mistake” but said some people just “took it and ran”, calling out some of the harsher comments.
