Ina Garten Shares Sweet Throwback Wedding Photo with Husband Jeffrey: See the Loving Pic From 1968!
The culinary star also announced that she'll be organizing a romantic playlist for Valentine's Day
Ina Garten shared a sweet throwback photo from her wedding.
The Be Ready When the Luck Happens author, who turns 77 on Feb. 2, got married to husband Jeffrey Garten, 78, on Dec. 22, 1968, when she was 20 and he was 22. More than 56 years later on Tuesday, Jan. 28, she posted a loving throwback pic on Instagram and Facebook from their big day.
As a Valentine's Day treat for fans, she also announced that she's making a music playlist filled with her favorite duets. To celebrate the romantic holiday last year, she created an "Ina's Favorite Love Songs" playlist for that special someone.
"I’m putting together a playlist for Valentine’s Day with my favorite duets," Ina wrote in her post's caption. "It will be available on Apple Music and Spotify. Comment your favorite duets and I’ll try to include them! ❤️❤️"
The Barefoot Contessa star has fond memories of her nuptials.
“It was a perfect day for a wedding,” she told PEOPLE exclusively in late 2017. The ceremony took place at her parents’ house — which she described as “a very contemporary rock cliff in the woods in Connecticut” — and it included a magical winter surprise.
“Right in the middle of the ceremony, it started to snow. It was beautiful and romantic, but by the end of the party, the poor guys parking cars had to dig everyone out!” she recalled.

Throughout their marriage, Ina and Jeffrey's unconditional support for one another has remained constant.
“We’ve had the good fortune of growing up together in a very compatible way,” Jeffrey told PEOPLE in 2018. “We’re like two vines that grew and wrapped themselves around one another.”
During a live Q&A at PEOPLE's offices in December 2024, Ina reflected on her and her longtime love's decision to not have children.
"I think Jeffrey would've been a great parent but I don't know whether I would've been a good parent or not," she said. "But anyway, I'm totally happy with the decision."
“I see why people have children, obviously,” she continued. “My friends have children and they love them, and they have wonderful families, and I totally appreciate that. But it took me a long time to understand that.”
