I'm A Celebrity 2024: Surprising reason major '90s icon won't be involved
Fans of nostalgia would have gone wild for this.
Anticipation for the new season of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! is at an all-time high, as a new batch of famous faces prepare to head to the jungle.
The 2024 season will mark the debut of Robert Irwin as co-host to Julia Morris, with the conservationist star replacing long-time host Dr Chris Brown.
The cast of the popular reality competition series has now been finalised and, apparently, the casting process was almost as savage as the jungle itself!
With interest in the show at an all-time high, an insider told Yahoo Lifestyle that celebrity managers were calling from all over the world hoping to get their talent a spot in the upcoming season.
"You know a show has a good reputation when you answer calls from well-known talent in the UK and the USA," the insider said. "Having Robert host with Julia opened a lot of doors for us when casting the 2024 series."
They continued, "We get interest from every inch of the sporting world. Comedians love to do the show because their experience gives them material for 12 months. Those '80s and '90s stars that are no longer getting consistent work - they are usually pretty keen too. So we obviously get chatting with those opportunities."

In a tantalising follow-up, the insider revealed, "This year those three categories have naturally filled out and we are confident with our lineup. Australia has something to look forward to come March 24th."
Of course, this has left us more eager than ever to know who has made the cut!
While that information is still a month away, the insider did say, "Network Ten is also really excited to roll out this latest batch of celebrities who will give up their luxuries and lifestyle and face some gruelling conditions - and if they have turned down stars from shows as iconic as Beverly Hills 90210 then you know they had a fantastic bunch to choose from.
Yep, it seems that Ian Ziering had been hoping for a chance to eat spider's eggs on the Aussie version of I'm A Celeb, but the insider said that the fact he had done the US version "does take away from a lot of the magic of this show."
Fans of Beverly Hills 90210 will remember that Ian played Steve Sanders from 1990 to 2000. He was one of the few original actors who was in every episode of the series that ran for 10 years.
Since the series ended Ian has appeared in several reality TV shows such as Celebrity Apprentice and Dancing With The Stars.
In 2023, Ian's former co-star Brian Austin Green (who played David Silver) made an appearance on The Masked Singer Australia - much to the delight of 90210 fans across the country.
Where can I watch the 2024 season of I'm A Celebrity?
The family-friendly reality series will premiere its new season on March 24, 2024. Set in the South African jungle, it'll be Robert's first season as co-host, with longstanding host Julia Morris also back for another season of punishing celebrities with terrifying tasks and horrific food challenges.
The show will be airing on Channel 10 and streaming on 10 Play.
