“So happy for our beautiful daughter Clancy and her amazing fiancé Luke on their engagement. We love you both so much,” she gushed in the caption.

The fan favourite star looked stunning, opting to wear a lilac blazer with matching lilac trousers, while fitness instructor Clancy wore an orange patterned dress with long sleeves.

Fans congratulated Lynne and her family on the big news, with fellow Home and Away stars Georgie Parker (Roo Stewart) and Sarah Roberts (Willow Harris) liking the post.

“Ah, that’s just wonderful. Much love and best wishes to you both!” a fan wrote.

“Congrats Lynne, what beautiful news to hear,” another added.

“Lovely photo of you all and congratulations,” a third commented.

It’s likely that Clancy will tie the knot before Lynne and Paul. While the lovebirds have been together for almost 38 years, Paul still hasn’t proposed.

In an interview with New Idea in 2014, Lynne joked that she’s ‘still waiting’ for Paul to propose.

“I invited him round to my place in 1984 [after dinner] and he never went home. Still hasn’t,” she told the publication.

“We always joke and say we’ll [get married] when we want some white goods, and I’m here to tell you now, we need a new washing machine!”

Lynne holds the record as the longest-serving female actress on a soap in Australia, after joining the show in 1993.

She previously told Woman’s Day that the support from Paul was ‘amazing’ as she juggled her career and motherhood.

“He took over as a house husband and primary carer of Clancy,” she said. “He’s amazing. We still enjoy each other’s company and still make each other laugh.”
