Home and Away EXCLUSIVE: Why Lincoln Younes will never return

The Aussie star played Casey Braxton from 2011 to 2014.

Former Home and Away star Lincoln Younes first shot to fame playing Casey Braxton, who arrived in Summer Bay in 2011. Alongside his onscreen brothers Heath Braxton (Dan Ewing) and Darryl ‘Brax’ Braxton (Steve Peacocke), the River Boys are considered some of the most popular characters ever from the soap.

The Aussie actor decided to quit the soap in 2014 and his exit storyline brought many fans to tears. With so many of his scenes revolving around the character's tight-knit family, it was fitting that his last appearance was with his brother, as he died in Brax’s arms.

Although the star was killed off, it hasn’t stopped viewers calling for his return to the soap. It wouldn’t be too far-fetched to bring Lincoln back as a secret twin, or claim he faked his own death to escape a threat.

However, in a chat with Yahoo Lifestyle, Lincoln dismisses fan speculation and confirms that he doesn’t see a return to Summer Bay in the future.

“I think the fact that Casey’s dead, kind of puts a stop to that narratively,” he laughs.

“That was a really perfect chapter in my life. It started and ended in the way that I kind of wanted it to, and it was a really great arc, which you don’t always get to experience on long-running shows like Home and Away.”

The star has been busy since leaving the show, starring alongside Eva Longoria in the US series Grand Hotel and currently leading the Paramount+ series Last King of the Cross.

Even if he did have time in his hectic schedule, he says he doesn’t want to revisit that particular role.

“It just remains something that I look back on really fondly, so I wouldn’t ever want to kind of touch that again, because sometimes it’s good to leave the party early and leave the magic still there,” he explains.

“You don’t want to kind of stay too long.”

Lincoln’s awkward nude scene

This comes after Lincoln revealed a hilarious nude scene mishap while filming The Last King of the Cross in Sydney.

The star plays John Ibrahim in the Paramount+ drama, revolving around the Ibrahim brothers who famously 'owned' the Kings Cross strip in Sydney.

In one scene that comes relatively early in the series, Lincoln was required to strip completely naked in order to burn evidence of a crime. Although he finds nude scenes a bit ‘uncomfortable’, he knows it’s all part of the job.

The television crew were averting their eyes as the star stripped in the backyard, but there was one gaze he couldn’t shake. One of the neighbours spotted the scene over his fence and was shocked by Lincoln’s nude form.

“I’m facing the fire and the camera, behind the camera is a fence. And this neighbour walked out midway through the take and just stared at me while I was naked burning clothes,” he told Yahoo Lifestyle. “And I stared [back] at him. That went on for way too long.”

The Grand Hotel star added that this particular nude scene happened near the start of filming, so it was a strange moment to share with the cast and crew, who were practically strangers at that time.

“That was quite hilarious…the cast and crew got to know me very intimately, very quickly,” he quipped.
