Home and Away stars tease plans to leave the show after co-star's exit
EXCLUSIVE: Emily Weir and Tristan Gorey reveal how they’d want to be killed off the show.
It’s been quite a huge month for Home and Away viewers after fan-favourite Felicity Newman, played by Jacqui Purvis, was dramatically killed off the show. In case you missed it, Felicity suffered a brain aneurysm during her brother Cash’s engagement party and was laid to rest during last week’s emotional triple episode.
While fans were understandably devastated by Jacqui’s heartbreaking departure, it seems as though the actress got exactly what she wanted out of her exit. Jacqui spoke with Yahoo Lifestyle in 2022 about how she would want Felicity to eventually leave the show and admitted that she hoped for a “really dramatic death”.
“I want to be killed off, I want a really dramatic death, like a really intense, gory, everyone's crying,” she told us. “And yep, death, die!”
In a similar vein, two of Jacqui’s co-stars have now revealed how she would want to say goodbye to Summer Bay in the future - although let’s be real, surely the soap wouldn’t kill off two beloved characters so close together, right?!

Emily Weir and Tristan Gorey, who play on-screen couple Mackenzie Booth and Levi Fowler, told Yahoo Lifestyle at the 2024 Logie Awards last week that they have a few ideas about how they might eventually leave Home and Away.
“For me, I don't ever want to die. I want to leave the Bay so there's always a place where I can come back to,” Emily said with a laugh. “But I mean, look, if I had to, I'd love to be in a gunfight or something really left of field. Really do some martial arts, like a fight scene or something.”
Meanwhile, Tristan said he can imagine his character Dr Levi becoming “bad” right before his on-screen death.
“I feel like Dr Levi should turn bad and then he's chasing after Mackenzie and Mackenzie’s running away, and then he just trips and falls and hits his head,” he detailed.
“Oh, boring!” Emily replied. “That's a boring one, that was boring.”
Home and Away cast 'really upset' after Jacqui's departure
Tristan also opened up to Yahoo Lifestyle about Jacqui Purvis’ departure from the show, admitting that the cast was devastated when she announced she would be leaving.
“I mean, it's sad seeing any beloved cast member leave. I remember helping Jacqui with that audition to get into Home and Away,” he reflected.
“So being on the show a few years later and seeing her leave, it was really upsetting. But she's onto some really incredible things, and I wish her all the best.”

Jacqui Purvis told Yahoo Lifestyle earlier this month that she absolutely loved her time working on Home and Away, but it was the right time for her to depart the soap.
“I’ve had an incredible time on the show. Some of the best years of my life. However, I knew I wanted an international career, so, I had to make the decision to leave and take the plunge,” she told us.
“I owe so much to the show, [and] because of it, I feel confident and ready to take on the international stage. I'm so grateful to the fans for supporting me through my years on the show.”
