Home and Away's Jake Ryan shares devastating news: 'This hurts'

Home and Away stars have rallied around their former costar Jake Ryan (Robbo Shaw), after he shared the devastating news that his Pop had passed away.

Sharing a carousel of photos of memories, the actor wrote a bittersweet tribute to the ‘king’ of the ‘Ryan Clan’.

“This one hurts and I’ve been dreading this day for a while,” he began.

“Pop, Red, Redbull, the king of the Ryan clan passed away in his sleep peacefully last night. Can’t find the words or fathom the enormity of this loss just yet. He was, ‘The Ryan family’ and there’s a very big hole left in his absence. Those who knew him will understand what I mean.

“Those who never had the privilege to meet him or have a yarn, I’m sorry. Miss you terribly already Pop. Rest easy up there and I’m sure Aaron is looking after you,” he finished.

Sam Frost, who played his onscreen wife Jasmine Delaney, kept it short and sweet: “Sending love Jakey x”.

“Big love mate. So sorry for your loss,” wrote Jackson Heywood (Brody Morgan).

“Sending you so much love Jakey. Xxx,” added Penny McNamee (Tori Morgan).

Bren Foster (Stephen Tennyson) also left a comment, writing: My deepest condolences mate”.

Current Home and Away makeup designer and former star Laura Vazquez also sent her love.

Friends and fans bombarded the star with sweet messages to help him through the tough time.

“There will never be another Lionel Ryan. Oh how I loved the Big Red. I will miss his yarns and that almighty laugh. Thinking of you Jakey and the entire Ryan fam — his love and legacy will live on through you all x,” one said.

“Oh darling! Such a devastating loss. Sending love to you all,” a second wrote.

“I’m so sorry for your loss, sending loads of love to you and your family,” another added.
