Home and Away fans were devastated when Colby Thorne, played by Tim Franklin, departed the soap in February 2021. Many hold out hope that the cop will make a return one day, as his character is still alive and serving time in prison for killing his abusive stepfather Ross Nixon.
The star’s next role sees Tim play a police officer in the Paramount+ series Last King of the Cross, alongside fellow Home and Away alumni Lincoln Younes. The first episode was released on Friday, and he reunited with a special friend during the premiere.
Emily Weir, who plays Mackenzie Booth, went to the Paramount+ event to support Tim. The brunette looked gorgeous, wearing a slinky brown high-waisted skirt and matching top.
She kept her straight locks loose and completed her outfit with a pair of silver stilettos with a stripe detail.
Tim shared a snap on Instagram of the pair posing with director Ian Watson, who directed two episodes of Paramount’s new series and often directs Home and Away episodes.
“The Last King of the Cross — check it out on Paramount+ I play a cop again #typecast,” Tim wrote in the caption.
After seeing photos from the premiere, fans begged Home and Away producers to bring Colby back to Summer Bay.
“We need Colby back!!! Mac and Colby were great together!!!!!” one fan pleaded.
“They should never got rid of Colby’s character, he was a great character, they made him bad. Hope they get a few others out of the show and bring Colby back as a nice character,” another added.
“Do wish Tim would come back to Home and Away, I think Dean would love to see him. I miss him, Dean and Willow together,” a third chimed in.
Others were overjoyed to see the two fan favourites back together at last.
“Awesome photos of a beautiful reunion xxx,” a fan gushed.
“Oh it’s so nice to see you and Tim Franklin together again. The good old Mac and Colby days,” another added.
“I love these photos so much,” a third commented.
